Spiritual Activism In A Culture Of Peace

Dot Maver
Executive Director of the Peace Alliance

There is no religion higher than Truth. These words of Helena Blavatsky speak to us as we face the challenge of creating a world that works for everyone. The practical application of the Ageless Wisdom Teaching is at the heart of a Culture of Peace.
Let us take time together to reflect on the principles inherent in Life itself and how we live and weave those into reality in our daily activities. It is a time of transition; a time of chaos; a time of the turning of many cycles at once; a time of beauty.

Dorothy J Maver, Ph.D. is Executive Director of the Peace Alliance and the Peace Alliance Foundation. The Peace Alliance advocates for legislation that supports a Culture of Peace, and is working for a US Department of Peace. The Peace Alliance Foundation provides education and leadership training supporting activism for a culture of peace. Dot served as the National Campaign Manager for Kucinich for President 2004, is the founder of the Vermont Peace Institute, and one of the co?founding members of the Vermont Peace Academy.
New England Dept. of Peace Conference

Description:
We invite you to our First Annual New England Conference as we support the establishment of a cabinet level Department of Peace, as well as local initiatives for peace in our communities. We come together to support each other, to learn more about lobbying, nonviolent communication and to hear from elected officials. We also come together to relax and have fun.
PROGRAM
The program is in development, however we plan to include: trainings on media, hosting congressional forums and topics for elections. We will be inviting community leaders, peace & conflict resolution leaders, congressional representatives and others. Lynn McMullen, Department of Peace National Campaign Coordinator, and others from The Peace Alliance may also attend. We also hope to have musicians and entertainment.
