In some ways, we have just begun to build a new peace movement which will build in the years to come and bring about world peace. I love the idea of a peace day because it gives focus to the somewhat nebulous idea of peace. What peace is and how it will be achieved is a mind boggling problem. But, if we can all stand together on one day and proclaim it is a possibility, then perhaps, one day, maybe beginning on September 21st, 2007? 2008? 2009? or maybe in 2012 - we will finally welcome a thousand years of peace. Peace, which will no longer tolerate violent expressions of power and greed.
