I like the way you talk/think. ;)

The two party/talon grip which this system holds so dear, was an error from the get go. The argument always being that a many party system takes to long to act. Well that certainly has been proven to be a deception, 200 + years have shown that it is the power of the people which create true change, not the power of the party. Parties do just that party.

Multipartisan Democracy

Thanks for that. Let's also remember those eagle eyes - far-seeing and visionary - and the strong, sturdy legs, and the sharp talons and beak, and the self-sufficient nesting habits, and the waterproof flight feathers.... I would like to see at least five viable, publicly-financed political parties with clear platforms that represent the diversity which is this country's citizens, and electoral reform that would include instant runoffs, an end to the electoral college, and multipartisan supervision of the ballot box. Perhaps if We the People were given a real choice and were sure that our voice would be heard, voter turnout would improve and the head of state would truly have a "clear mandate."

Lets also remember that the eagle has no direction without its tail, and those who ride in that section can not be left behind in the crap.

GOOD NEWS

...is hard to come by these days, but today's AlterNet (5/18/05) has certainly started my day off right. Featured was the transcript (with links to live audio and video) of a speech by Bill Moyers, former NOW host who retired last year, that was given in St. Louis regarding government control of media in particular and the state of the nation in general. Moyers received calls to come out of retirement and even two nominations for President!
