Only when a Senator finds the gonads to write up the articles of impeachment and submit them to the Supreme Court will there be hearings. Petitions by the people cannot impeach but can only let their will be known to their Senators who are then still free to act on their conscience. It may be that the power structure is so seamless that the effort will fail, regardless of the clear evidence in favor of such an action. It may be that even our "favorite" propeace Senators choose not to risk their careers to take an action that is doomed from the outset. I hope I'm wrong about the latter; I would at least like an attempt to be a part of our history so that future generations will know that we are not as spineless as we look. It may be that just bringing the formal action will embarrass the president into resigning, like what happened with Tricky Dick. It may be that you can make this an issue in the '06 Senatorial campaigns; people are no longer whispering the I-word. Just remember that vice-presidents can also be impeached; some perfectly reasonable people are more worried about the succession of a more intelligent reactionary than they are about waiting out the term of a puppet.

truth rocks

As I learn of the indictment of Tom DeLay and the continuing erosion of the case for war in Iraq, I find it darkly comical how the cover of deceit and denial never seems to fit quite right. There is always a leak. That darn pesky truth always seems to find a way out at the most inconvenient times! The cynical side of me laughs whenever the deceptions and denials of a public figure are exposed. As if they could ever successfully suppress truth. Ha!

But this points me to the knowing that I have to pay attention to my own less public but just as futile self-deceptions and denials. What are the ways in which I cover up truth?

We all have work to do. These public figures are only human, just like you and me.

The river of denial runs wide, deep and swift, one struggles and suffers within the illusions one creates and/or supports, and those illusions of denial, firmly rooted within the hard packed ground of fear present a towering wall of seemingly complex adversity to overcome, the simple reality is, that all one needs do - is see, know and live upon the bedrock of truth, for the Age of Compassion is dawning.
