APPROVAL RATING - A PoemMichael Hoban, Ph.D. I I read the paper just today and guess what I did see? They asked the people what they thought and wouldn't you just know It seems that people don't approve of war without a cause They do not think that it is right to torture and to lie II The people do not seem to think that freedom will be spread They wonder why so many who live in other lands Of course it's true that we were hurt on that awful day We want to strike at terror and that is only right III The people think that maybe the invasion was not just The weapons that they told us that really were so bad And then there was the torture and secret prisons far and wide No wonder many people are fed up to the hilt Michael Hoban, Ph.D. is Professor Emeritus of the City University of NY

Mike, I'm so enjoying your poetic contributions to this site. Your practical expression is the perfect balance for Rainbow Brain's more cerebral style. I'm grateful for you, Bruce, Jason, Artie, Davidson, Dottie Ann, and all the other poets and scholars who represent wealth beyond measure to propeace.net. To borrow a phrase from Ruth Davis, my Humboldt County, CA colleague, PEACE ON!
