Bush's Actions are not ChristianI am a Christian attorney, and I've written a book entitled "Christian Words, Un-Christian Actions: George W. Bush and the Desecration of Christianity in Modern America." In a detailed and well-researched logical progression, my book demonstrates that George W.'s walk does not match his talk, and provides the Scriptural foundation to pierce the Religious Right, which cannot be influenced by truth-tellers like Paul J. O'Neill, Richard Clarke, or Joseph Wilson. Christians who have been deceived by Bush and his Machiavellian neo-con entourage are impervious to facts because they hide ignorantly behind Romans 13, which is employed to insulate the self-styled "accountability president" from accountability. In fact, the Bible clearly and repeatedly admonishes Christians to hold their leaders, especially "Christian" leaders, to the standards of Christian doctrine. When examined through the lens of true Christian faith, George W. Bush is revealed as the wolf in sheep's clothing that he is, for the Iraq War violates just war doctrine, the use of torture is prohibited for Christians without exception, and Jesus taught His followers to show true compassion toward the poor, not to dismiss them under deceptive maneuvers like "compassionate conservatism" or "trickle-down economics." The environment is not to be raped, but caretaken, in true Christian doctrine. American Christians who supported Bush must take accountability for the consequences of unleashing their Frankensteinian Christian. America calls itself a Christian nation, but it exports military weaponry and military force, pornography and pedophilia, environmental destruction, consumptive acquisitiveness, and a culture built on selfishness. Is it any wonder that many in the world are shrinking away from the United States, and also from Christianity? Both the democratic and Christian traditions require that Americans hold their government morally accountable. Once abdicated, this duty is surrendered in exchange for the corporate and bureaucratic domination now witnessed in modern America. It is as forewarned in the New Testament: "All this is yours if you will bow down and worship me." Americans have relinquished their freedom to their corporate masters, and the irrevocable consequences are disastrous. Next stop, Iran.... Advance order this book at www.pleasantwordbooks.com |
