Stupid is as stupid does.

Mail boxes have probably been vandalized since the first ones were set out along side country roads. Just as breaking the neighbors fence is a cowards way of doing harm, instilling fear, anger and perhaps even getting a few of his sheep to commingle with yours.

Criminals of all types have been waging the crime wave long before media was so able and accessible to give detailed "Tips of the Crime Trade" reports.

Yet the question remains, given an overload of cultural input, weather its form is word of mouth next to a camp fire or mass distributed via Radio, TV, Movies, Music, Books or Computers, that with a rise in reporting, especially of negative events, coupled with a rise in entertainment that is focused on violence, revenge, generally doing harm and instilling fear in others. Are not these activities made more acceptable, especially perhaps to those who are not afforded the education and opportunity to make decisions which embrace tolerance, sharing, compassion and helping others, thus allowing one all the more reason to view the other as the enemy.

And for those who are afforded education and opportunity their crimes result from a misguided sense of hero grandeur and ego in an attempt to save the world from the very fears which motivate them.

Obliviously this focus on violent solutions to a hero's everyday adventures does not by itself create a rapist, thief, school shooter or serial killer, but it certainly does offer a comfortable and readily available social nest for one to lie in, while allowing them to seemingly be just another average neighbor.

Which should raise the question, why is it that military and/or terrorist groups are so successful with their media propaganda, recruitment and training videos.

Mama says, stupid is as stupid does.
