If I were President - Bringing the troops home

If I were President by Mitchell Gold / Peacemaker:

Let us recognize I cannot bring them back without preparation. Just as in war, peace must be prepared for. If we bring them back too quickly more harm may be done than we might like to consider. Therefore:

Firstly, I would apologize to, and ask for foregiveness from Michael Berg and the American people and the people of the World for any actions that I may have taken in the past four years that did not serve humankind at the highest possible level of understanding.

Secondly, I would begin an action to change the law that prohibits the United States from participating in the United Nations if a Global Tax were enunciated by the United Nations. (Helms 1993?) (this would be perfunctory action because of the magnificent arguments that will be expounded by the reductionist thinking pundits, those economists, media people, and people whose voice fractures the consciousness of clear thinking potentialities) who would war against such a tax, and therefore we would at the same time institute a global brand label that identifies goods services and products participating (or produced by) a world peace program. (Call it a Culture of Peace )

Before bringing back the soldiers we would need to train them in the notions of a Culture of Peace - probably using Jean Houstons Social Artistry model. - and for some put them through some behaviour modification programs to make sure they were not hurt too badly (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually) while they were fighting. In short we have to be very careful how we bring them home.

At this point we bring the healthy soldiers back having them be aware that this program is in place, and demonstrate that they still have a job teaching this program to the rest of society - imgaine 150,000 new teachers for peace - and we have every one fully understand that the program assists with the refinancing of the United Nations. They would have the new job of explaining how a Culture of Peace might work.

Since the UN cannot initiate this program, we bring together wise people from different traditions (a wisdom council) to monitor the funding of the program and its administration. The program raising the funds is called TOPS - the one percent solution.

I think that covers it. Now let's play ball.

Not too much else need be done except to heal the warriors before they come home.

And blessings on all that see the wisdom of these words

bringing them back

do you really think, that, after fighting in Iraq, any of our soldiers are "healthy"?....what is your understanding of "healthy"?
