US Fascism

When fascism comes to the US, it won't be wearing swastikas - it will be wearing red, white and blue and whistling Yankee Doodle Dandy.

where'd that come from?

I think I've seen that quote before, Susan, but can't quite place it. Perhaps it seems familiar because it's so obvious!

I've been involved in many a discussion about how Fascism differs from other forms of repressive government structures. One absolutely essential element of Fascism that is missing from any of the definitions offered by Jason's sources is the castigation of The Enemy Within. It could be Communists, it could be Jews, it could be Negroes, it could be Immigrants, or perhaps . . . "The Left". But the mantra is always the same: these horrible, wicked people who pretend to be just like "us" are conspiring to destroy the very fabric of our heritage and suck away the strength and vigor of our society. It is every citizen's duty to expose them, ostracize them, and punish them for their traitorous wrongdoings.

Sound familiar?
