There comes a time when the government of a nation no longer represents the people whom it serves. In this most turbulent of times it is the duty and responsibility of those individuals capable of righting the wrongs to step forth and unite in the interests the people. I believe that one of those times is upon us now. The government no longer represents the interists of the working class citizen. Instead it has turned toward capitalism and the interists of big buisness. Therefore it is our responsibility as united states citizens to step forth and call for a change. To those of you who feel the same as me I say this. Unite with me and together we will pave the way for a brighter and better america, one devoted to peace justice and the american way of life.

A call to arms or a call to vote, is still a call to conflict. The question of a Peace Department in a war government and any divide in wealth, religion or what*ever, is to pose the answers and solutions of creating that which joins and balances the yin and yang of these polar opposites. To breath the life of cooperation, tolerance and love into every action and word that one brings to the tables of discourse. There is no need for a new revolution, religion, or government, the only need is for Peaceful*Change.

Jaguardi hits the nail on the head. How do we embrace a Peace Department in a war government? How would a peace department intervene in the Israel-Lebanon conflict when the State Department and the Department of Defense were both arming Israel, encouraging it to "defend itself," and shifting from decades of US policy and openly siding with Israel?

Both of America's entrenched parties have failed the citizenry. Instead of being our servant, our federal government is fast becoming a massive bureaucratic behemoth seeking more and more ways to dominate us. Governments only grow bigger: and like business expansions, they demand new areas of growth to justify their expansion and to feed their machine. America is teetering on the brink of economic and social collapse, enabled not just by the deliberate avoidance of core issues by the platforms of both major political parties, but because the American people have been willing to settle for those two parties and what they've offerred. Now our political system has warped out of recognoition, with a runaway executive branch unhindered by the judiciary or legislative branches, and all politicians seeking power via the votes of the citizenry, but while being on the payroll of corporations and special interest groups. In sum, our government is "out of balance" in two vital areas -- the separation of powers, and because politicians view Americans as consumers to market toward, not humans to serve.

The only question remaining is whether the revolution which will be precipitated by the wealth divide created by this situation will be by ballot box (wherein Americans move radically and strongly toward a new political party, i.e. a Perot), or by anarchic implosion. The latter is the most likely outcome, if only because the myriad problems facing America have been compounded over recent decades, and most especially over the last five years, so that by the time Americans truly awaken to their plight, the proverbial walls will be falling around them.

It is to be hoped that people like you Jaguardi will educate others and create an impetus toward the political revolution which might offer Americans a viable third-party choice. In the alternative, it is people like you who will contribute to a reclamation of our political heritage and Constitutional structure from the chaotic aftermath.

May God richly bless you.
