minutia

When we focus our energy on our differences and disagreements that are insignificant to the broader vision of peace, we diminish our collective power and we miss opportunities to broaden our scope. What is to be gained by focusing on such things?

When we work toward building upon our shared values and our vision, then we engage in acts of creation and connection; we evolve. This may certainly involve looking at differences and working through disagreements. But this kind of work feels exhilarating rather than petty.

Let us not be mired inwardly in discussions of asterisks, the value of poetry or the minor differences in the expression of core values we all share. Let's discuss our vision and our solutions in spirited debate and in such a way as to create connections in the outer world.

The amount of energy you will expend in this life is a finite quantity. I feel that the world is best served if we do not waste it on minutia.
