Rise above--my view of an enlightened world

An enlightened world, the concept seems so simple, yet in today's highly-evolved world, it seems almost impossible. The most important step to take in enlightening the world is to abolish racism and sexism. The world cannot truly find peace without mutual respect for every person in the world. Of course, war needs to be abolished as well. A great alternative to war would be open communication between opposing parties followed by an attempt to understand the opposing viewpoint and to reach a compromised solution. It would be much more sophisticated in dealing with conflict than shooting at people.
Peace,

ENLIGHTENED WORLD

To be "ENLIGHTENED" is to be SPIRITUALLY informed Please note I didn't say to be religiously informed. Why? because in my humble opinion this is where it all start. Religions divide people into different camps. We are born in different cocoon. Some of us are born in the Jewish cocoon and indoctrinated in the Jewish camp , others in the Christan, Muslims, Buddhist cocoon and indoctrinated in their traditional camps. Till you breakaway from your own cocoon and free yourselves from your own cultural up-bringing your are not enlightened. It is like living in a huge dark cave each hold to their own little candle to see. It really doesn't matter what candle you are holding, christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist or what ever. Their is only that much little light your candle can provide. Until and only when you blow your candle off and allow your eyes to adjust to the total darkness of the cave then and only then you can see clearly because this time you are usig your all being not only your eyes to see. Finally you and your surrounding become one and the same. As far I am concern this is the first step to be on your way for being SPIRITUALLY informed.

Rise*Above - Enlightened*World

i*must agree with you both, other than this is not a very highly evolved world in the true sense of enlightenment, and that most tend to copy their parents ideology and tradition only to the point of serving the purpose and desire's of their generation.

imagine - social learning ;)

Enlightened World

This is an enlightened world, interconnected, and with increasing opportunities for communication. Racism and sexism represent the most simplistic and erroneous thinking about a FUNDAMENTAL truth, Everyone does NOT merit respect. Everyone does deserve an education in Human Rights, to evaluate how their tax dollars get spent. The perception of Human Rights often lacks this important point of view- Government's responsibility to the individual.
As far as multi-culturalism, learn another language and immerse yourself in another culture to appreciate that cultures, like genetic diversity, may become methods of species survival in stressed and stressful environments.
Otherwise, seems we'll all have relations and intercourse until everyone becomes a secular humanist- not likely.

We all tend to copy our parents' ideology. Tradition = social learning.
