keep the internet free

Tomorrow is October 24 - the last day to tell the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to pull the
plug on AT&T's $80 billion merger unless the media
giant agrees to keep the Internet free and open. Your
message to the FCC will strengthen the hand of
Commissioners Michael Copps and Jonathan Adelstein,
who are our net neutrality champions.

On October 13, Copps and Adelstein refused to approve
the merger, insisting that AT&T give more to the
public, including a real commitment to net neutrality.

Copps and Adelstein have more power over this vote
because only four commissioners are participating.
Commissioner Robert McDowell has abstained from voting
to avoid a conflict of interest.

But there is huge corporate pressure to approve the
merger between telecom giants AT&T and BellSouth.
That's why the FCC needs to hear from you. Your voice
can make a difference in this struggle to preserve the
Internet for all of us.

Please let the FCC know how important net neutrality
is to all of us, to democratic discourse on the
Internet, to freedom of __expression by bloggers, and
to a free market for entrepreneurs with good ideas.

Thank you for all you do.

Sincerely,
