Free speech online 'under threat'

Tags:

I recently read an article on News BBC that stated that the rights of those who voice their thoughts online are being taken away. An Iranian blogger named Kianoosh Sanjari was jailed because he posted comments about the police in Iran. In the wake of 'unlawful government spying' within the United States, I see this as a sick growing problem. Our freedom is wanning slowly and there seems but one solution for this decay. We must rally around all causes like a bull in the ring. With Amnesty International at the root of this fight to release Kianoosh Sanjari, please show your support. Visit:

The Truth

I appreciate you discussing my story. I still have no clue on why i was jailed. Ironicaly President Bush was in town. They drugged me to the point where my weeks felt like days meaning I thought I was only missing for a week and a half but it really was about a month. I was put in a psychiatric center to recooperate for a week. There they allowed me to make phone calls. I am just getting over the side effects of their injetions. I thank God for allowing me to be in my right mind and spirit.

We*have been beaten, neglected, raped, despoiled, dismembered, hung, strung, piked, spiked, drugged, mugged, dragged, ragged, kidnapped, taken hostage, beheaded, shot, stabbed, exploded, poisoned, hacked, sacked, tortured, killed, whacked, rubbed out, snuffed, assassinated, mutilated, ignored and brushed-off by the weapon of mass destruction employed against the people for ages, the single weapon of those who deem themselves powerful, the weapon of fear and its ally the image of hate.

It is this weapon, this illusion which can no longer hold its force within the world, for its use is seen for what it*is, for what it*creates, for whom it*works, and with this knowledge the truth shall rise above all that attempt its oppression.

I was also jailed and beaten to the point where I can't remember their faces. All I know is that they were wearing Uniforms. This happen in Harris County Jail in Houston Texas about a month ago. I have permanent scars to show. But I am still fighting for my rights because no weapons formed against me should prosper.

The Truth

The world is full of crime
Because its full of people with militant minds
Can they really help what they do
Are they really doing it because they feel they suppose to
Can a persons mind be that unstable
They want to do good but they're just not able
We have all done things we though we'd never do
Then wonder why we do it but have no clue
Is it because of the lack of love
Or because we don't pray to the man above
Is it because we feel lost
And just want to be found at any cost
Do we deserve to go to jail
Do we really deserve to burn in hell
Some say yes and some say no
Who's right or wrong we'll never know

Hi Redsand, My fear is that

Hi Redsand,

My fear is that oppression such as this will make its way to the US very soon. Our phones are tapped, the government is involved in domestic and international cover-up that have killed millions, and citizens don't have real rights.

Hi there. Well that is

Hi there. Well that is really sad to hear. It looks like they don't have that much freedom of expression. I hope their country could loosen up a bit and give what is due to their people. It is really depressing to hear something like that happening until now.
