Child,
Fighting,
Clamoring to break free of mothers womb,
Lay eyes upon a world of color,
Smiles,
And it is good.

Man,
Fighting with his eyes wide shut,
Shooting people, woman, child,
Wanting not to see the world in red,
Cries for contrition,
And wishes he were dead.

And wishes he had never fought
to break away at first light.

I wrote it in what seemed only a couple of minutes. I'd just viewed a few heartaching videos about suffrage, hunger and slavery that moved me to write something or scream.
