national dialogue

With the news of Fairmont, MN and Chicago, IL City Council resolutions passing unanimously -- congratulations and great work! -- along with the news of the publication of the Boston Globe Op-Ed, is a healthy post election reminder that we are now part of the national dialogue in the United States of America.

Our work together moves into a next phase, as we build on the strong foundation we have all helped to create. And as we take these next steps together let us be mindful that we are part of the possibility inherent in what so many people in this great country are demanding at this time. We represent a practical way through; a possible solution based on promising practices; a call for dialogue among all on behalf of all of us who are choosing to find ways to reduce violence and prevent conflict in proven ways that reduce cost; we unify and we speak a language that everyone can hear.

Thank you for your tireless efforts in a movement that continues to grow and vitalize individuals, groups, and those in other countries, with hope and clear vision as we continue to advocate a culture and practice of peace. Our Student Peace Alliance is the best example of what we know is possible as they come together, from all political persuasions, cultural backgrounds, and interests. It makes my heart sing.

As always, it is a joy to journey together and I look forward to our continuing cooperation as we help create a world that works for everyone.

In the Spirit of Peace,
Dot
