It's nice to know that, given time, one can overcome one's fears, especially when the path is taken with a trusted friend, even more especially, a strong woman friend with full skirt. Dubya finally made it to ‘Nam. There was a bit of tripping over words, but not much more than the linguistically challenged endure. ‘Tis a wonder how the teachers of English in Vietnam will explain some of his syntax to astute students.

One wonders what prompted such a brave face at this late stage. Is it a practice run for facing the double barrels of Congress come the new year? Hey, if one can finally stand on that soil that once spoke the uncertainty of the future, two years as a crippled duck won't be half bad.

There is only one wish I have, which is that we citizens of these fifty states, as well as the world at large, would stop being treated like over-protected children and be allowed to hear the truth of our history. Some would go back to Pearl, but I'd settle for Dallas in ‘63 and the crimes against humanity that resulted in the horrors of this new millennium. Oh, and the munitions deals with Saddam in the ‘80's would be intriguing. Stranger indeed is non-fiction.

Moving on to the silver screen, we were introduced to concepts via such innocuous creatures as ET, and other high flying adventures. Is this so we won't be too surprised when they finally reveal themselves, or so we won't be too shocked if the Military actions against these beings become declassified? And are they extra- or sub-terrestrial, anyway? Perhaps our ancestors were onto something with their respect for the ‘wee folk.'

All folksiness aside, how refreshing would be the Truth. Imagine an enlightened society, humankind finding a common denominator amidst our diversity. Imagine enjoying our DNA-given variables. It is in knowing the truth that one finds freedom, a word we flagrantly banter and abuse and belittle. Enough of the babbling blather and bumbling bush!
