Are we winning?

It does'nt interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up,
after a night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone,
and do what needs to be done,
to feed the children.

From The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

Oriah suggests that we reach out one morning with our imagination and feel the millions of men and women across our planet who do the best they can every day to feed their childrens bodies, hearts and minds.

When you look into the eyes of a child, what do you see? Pain, Peace, Joy? It doesn'nt matter whether you're looking at a child mutilated by a cluster bomb on TV or our own children happily playing with a favourite toy, they crave our love and attention.

They are the future, the decision makers who will decide the direction of our planet and perhaps ultimately it's fate. The question arises, are we preparing our children to do a better job than we have managed so far.

When our children ask us what we have done to address the big issues, will we be able to put our hands on our hearts and say we stood up and did our utmost. Or will we shuffle our feet and say that we were powerless to stop the power hungry and corrupt administrations who refuse to desist from their destructive path?

I hope that I will never have to look a child in the eye and admit that I did'nt give it my best shot.

Here at Madison4peace we are sending the children of this world our love and attention, whoever they are and wherever they may be.
