Was anyone else as appalled by the State of the Union address? I know I certainly was. After 3,000 words into his speech, Bush finally brought up the big item at hand. Iraq. Now lets see what did he say? If we do not support his plan then we are not supporting the troops already in Iraq and the ones on their way? That is ridiculous. I have found more troop support on websites that are propeace than Bush has ever shown for our troops. We support them in a different way of course. You know, in high school we never learned about Viet Nam. Maybe because it is egg on the face of America. A war that was lost. An estimated 58,000 American troops dead, countless others left handicapped. Last election many dems were saying this war was the next Viet Nam. Now I don't know about that, but what I do know is American troops are dying every day in the middle of a civil war that the US created when our government thought it was a good idea to destoy their government. Saddam's slaughter of the Kurds is no more disgusting then the Coalition's slaughter of Shiite, Sunni, Kurds, and whoever else gets in the way. Granted Bushy did make the most intelligent speech I have heard from him yet. There was actually talk of helping our friends in Africa, health care reform, more renewable energy sources. Things he has never really spoken of before. It's just a day late and a dollar short. Why has it taken the government so long to realize that global warming isn't something that the LEFT liberals just invented for their own agenda? Maybe it's because polar bears are now cannibals and dying at alarming rates. OR the fact that both polar ice caps are MELTING. About as quickly as the witch on the Wizard of Oz. Anyway...I started rambling. I would love to hear what you all thought about the speech.
