March on Washington

Of course not all of us will be able to attend what is supposedly going to be the biggest anti-war protest ever. If you are unable to attend you can still join in the virtual march which already has over 19,000 internet users "attending". I found this info at Democrats.com. You can attend the virtual march, youtube.com will be streaming live, big media will be there, there will be great speakers (not the hollywood ones) like Mr. Kucinich. You can go to Democrats.com and send this info to friends and family and also contact your congress people. While I wish deeply I could go, my husband is facing prosecution for a crime that he didn't commit, so he can't leave the state. So-please join in the virtual march if you can't make it to DC. It is better than not doing anything at all.

well stated Chris, and yes "These*Wars" will soon end, as the ones before have, the mistake which must not be made "again" is to think World*Peace will come to be by simply ending wars.

The Last*War must be waged by every individual, every group, every government, this time the world must move forward, through Strength, Unity and Peaceful*Change and it will be All the peoples responsibility to make certain this is accomplished.

i*stand with no single nation or group, i*stand with peace, together in Strength, Unity and Peaceful*Change.

this is the reality which will pay peace forward, this is the reality to create.

Equal and Supportive of All*Ways, with peace in our hearts.

Peace*Movement

The Peace*Movement is exactly that, a movement toward peace, a movement away from war, a movement which very much moves in the hearts and minds of the people, a movement of the individual realization that as a collective whole, as a growing movement within the boundaries of faith, law, trust, tolerance, compassion and love, the world will be moved by a shift so awe-inspiring and of such magnitude, that the power, greed and corruption of fear will have no way of foreseeing or preparing for its reality. For the Peace*Movement is not anti-anything, it is a movement of understanding all that creates fear and all that oppresses peace, and from that understanding will arise the Realization of Peace.

So a member of the peace movement is one who moves toward conflict with an understanding of he’r role in that conflict, who moves toward hate with tolerance for he’r part in hates perception, who moves toward resolution with the compassion and love which is required to bring about a peaceful outcome to a given situation, even if that situation allows those who choose to embattle themselves and others the opportunity to do so, for from that embattlement will rise those who, shall become even more moved by and invested in the Peace*Movement. A movement which if only by shear attrition will succeed as the movement of war continues to destroy that which it claims to protect.

what Mother Terasa said

Thank you for this information. Of course it is good to get out and protest a war, but I a am reminded what Mother Terasa said when asked if she would attend a protest against the Vietnam War. She said she'd be glad to attend a protest against all war but not a specific one.

Women have had the vote for over 80 years, clearly the problem runs deep.

I am coming to the opinion that capitalism, that perversion of greed and fear, is primarily an expression of the out of control feminine aspect. Where as religions fundamentalism and communism, perversions of idealism, are expressions of the masculine aspect out of control.

what is the answer? Eric Fromm said it best I think. Humanistic Communitarian Socialism.

Join others dedicated to the cause of peace in a plan to live in a LARGE, rural, largely self sufficient, humanistic, communitarian socialistic cooperative: non income sharing. A VERY different plan www.abundancethroughsharing.org
