I have not intended to be judgmental or intolerant in my skepticism that government structures such as the Department of Peace will stop the hawkish leaders who have ignored the majority wishes of America. This is simply my belief, and I ask for tolerance of it: as I have posted previously, I support your ideas, I just question the efficacy of this Department. I am tryinf to contribute toward a solution also.

I feel I must warn all those who will listen of the realities we face. I do not do this because I am a forecaster of doom, but because I am a committed and fearless realist. I have used my legal training (cum laude) to read in detail the Military Commissions Act and the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act, and together with the USA PATRIOT Act and signing statements, etc., one can glean a picture of what this government is planning. Government does not create laws that it does not intend to use, and does not hide these laws in silly acronyms or obtuse funding bills without reason.

Most Americans have not read these statutes, and many when they do lack the legal training and historical/political context to fully appreciate their significance. By all means, take my following comments with a large grain of salt, but please consider the possibility of their truth, so that as events unfold you may reconsider what you may at first dismiss. Many do not want to consider the truth of what I'm saying because it so forcefully challenges their foundational belief systems, most especially their "faith" in America, its Constitution, and its leadership. If these things were to falter, most do not have an alternative course in mind to save them -- thus they continue to repose faith in these institutions even as they are exposed to be more myth than truth.

George Bush will soon invade Iran: I hope not, and have had many dear Iranian friends. I cry often at the very thought of this happening. But the writing is on the wall, and Bush's modus operandi is transparent -- even his latest assertions that Iran is behind the Iraq problem (remember Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam?), coupled with disclaimers about any intention to invade Iran, is right out of his playbook. He did the same thing before he invaded Iraq. Bush believes (or says he believes) that if we don't fight Iran now, it will be a nuclear-armed Iran we fight later. This is hogwash, but he and his neo-cons and the Religious Right are starting an unholy religious war.

Congress has already revealed its impotence. What's more, it has passed laws which allow Bush (with a simple co-signature by Alberto Gonslimez) to declare martial law and suspend federal elections and the federal government. To repeal these laws would require 1)the political will, which is lacking (these were not in the Dems 100-day hoopla) and 2)a two-thirds majority necessary to overcome a Bush veto (not currently there). The laws I refer to are already on the books! They suspend habeas corpus, the right to a jury trial, the Geneva Conventions, and a host of other rights. They permit secret trials with sevret ballots, coerced testimony (yes, torture), hearsay evidence, and other -pre-Draconian barbarism. these are already the laws of America. The John Warner National Defense Authorization Act permits Bush to use National Guard and all other federal military troops against US citizens any time he decides (he's the decider!) that there is instability within a state -- even political protests, e.g. against the wars.

We will likely see another "attack" on US soil (likely a false flag attack, but what difference does it make?) that will be used either to justify an attack on Iran (unless a Tonkin Gulf incident is employed there) or to declare martial law, or both. Tyranny has seized America, and the Department of Reace will fall victim also. All sorts of corporate-dominated plans await us. Human labor is now a surplus resource, in the view of these evildoers, as is human life. Halliburon is completing construction of detention facilities, and the Military Commissions are being set up for use against Americans labeled "enemy combatants," something Anne Coulter and others are doing their jobs to encourage.

If I am paranoid, it is for good reason. I truly hope we will not venture into Iran, but Iraq is much more of a quagmire than Vietnam -- we can not simply come home, and say we're sorry, even if our corporate masters would allow it. I'm truly sorry to disappoint you, but the entire Middle East will soon be in turmoil, and the US is trying to seize their oil, riling up China and Russia in the process. Do you think other nations will save us when we have become willingly enslaved by our own government? Do you think that microchips are just a fiction? It is time to get educated about the truth.

The Bible predicts all of these things accurately , and God does keep His word. The world as we know it is collapsing into an age worse than the Dark Ages. "Progress" is a myth. As America's economy implodes and our freedoms evaporate, and we face starvation and suffering worse than any in the history of man, we can face these events with hopeless despair, not believing in God; or in the hope of Jesus Christ, who forewarned us in detail of all these happenings. George W. Bush does not speak for Christ; Jesus does. In fact, even GW Bush and the Religious Right are clearly described in the New Testament, as ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing, who would lead many astray. They lead not only uninformed Christians astray, but also non-Christians who dismiss Christ because of their hypocrisy.

Whether or not you share my faith, we will all share in the events which are about to unfold. If I have correctly predicted the sweeping and tyrannical power grab being planned by this government, I hope you will at least show enough courage to refuse where the marks of the microchip or National ID card, bot vehicles presented as for our safety but intended for our enslavement.

Read the statutes I reference, at www.senate.gov. These laws are alreadt passed, and legislation for a draft (with no college deferments, and applicable to women as well as men) is waiting for some national defense emergency to be passed, or imposed by our new dictator. Imagine if Bush extends his term indefinitely. Impossible you say? It's already on the books, and therefore probably in the cards. Do not allow your fear of these events keep you from looking at the possibility in the eye -- the courage you call for. And if these events occur, contact the Department of Peace, and fill out a form or too. Perhaps it will gain you peace of mind....:)

Again, I do not denigrate your effort, though you take offense at my constructive criticisms -- tell me instead how these things will be prevented, or what you intend to do if these predictions come to pass. Have you not yet seen how this government has repeatedly failed you, and We the People? The founding fathers also warned us of this creeping tyranny, but we have abandoned their admonitions also.

I pray that you will succeed in retaking the government which is supposed to serve rather than enslave us, and I support your effort to do so. I also support the creation of a third party, to bring some integrity into those same institutions. But the old adage still bears true: hope for the best, and plan for the worst. I fear too many Americans have no plans for the worst, from fear of it. I do not expect a third party to save us either. This is not because this is what I would like to believe, but where unvarnished reality leads me. In fact, it was these conclusions as a secular humanist which led me to read the Bible for the first time, and consider the alternative -- that there is indeed a God in charge, despite our belief that we understand everything. Jesus Christ will save us, if we heed Him. Nothing else is on the horizon.
