Only Light Can Drive Out Darkness by Martin Luther King, Jr.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction. The chain reaction of evil - hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars - must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

Guiding Martin Luther King III-N New Mexico Realizing the Dream

When I posted the Martin Luther King Jr. quote above, I had no idea that I would ever get to meet Martin Luther King III.
But last month, my dear friend Pearl Means asked me and my seventeen year old daughter Liesette Paisner to guide Martin Luther King III on the Northern New Mexico segment of his Realizing the Dream Listening and Learning Tour to End Poverty.
Mixed Blood Radio On the Road with Martin Luther King III on June 10-14th.
It was a great week.
Check out www.myspace.com/touchart and www.photobucket.com for pictures from our visits with Bosque Convervation Corps Youth, a march with Alamosa neighborhood children, visit with curanderas and traditional healers at Topahkal Health Cooperative, tour of Hispanic Cultural Center, visit with NM Wrestling Coach Mike Lujan, meeting with Albuquerque Mayor Chavez, town meeting at South Broadway Cultural Center in Albuquerque, then tours of Land Grant Heirs farms and historic churches in Chimayo, Cordova and a town meeting in Truchas (where MILLAGRO BEANFIELD WAR was filmed), meeting with the tribal staff, dances and a feast at Picuris Pueblo, visit with Native Radio Host Albert Cata at Ohkay Owinghe Pueblo, and with the Lt. Governor and former Governor at Santa Clara and with H.O.P.E. (Honor our Pueblo Existence) founder Marian Naranjo and her family at Santa Clara, and dinner with Santa Fe Mayor David Coss at Hotel Santa Fe hosted by Picuris Pueblo.
