A Season For Nonviolence - Day 64, Apr 3: CELEBRATION

DAY 64 Apr. 3: The thought for today is CELEBRATION. Margaret Mead said “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Nonviolence is building the courage to speak and act with respect, reverence and compassion for our own being. Rejoice in the work that you have done. Celebrate the journey that you have made with countless others who believe that every individual can move the world in the direction of peace with their nonviolent choice and action.

Today: I celebrate my knowledge and maturity, my choice of nonviolence, and the journey I have chosen.

let's dance

I, for one, like this thought for the day very much! :)

Reminds me of two quotes. The first by Marshall Rosenberg of the Center for Nonviolent Communications (http://cnvc.org) --

"Given the enormity of the social change that confronts us, the thing that will give us the most hope and strength to make change happen is if we learn how to celebrate. Out of a spirit of celebration will come the energy to do whatever it takes to bring about social change."

And then the famous quote by Emma Goldman: "If I can't dance I don't want to be in your revolution."

Celebration is the opposite of violence. Let's dance! Peace is fun. Peace is a celebration.
