Peace Pole Dedications

This morning at Union Hospital in Lynn, Ma I will be helping to dedicate a peace pole in their garden.
This evening in Salem, Ma, I will be representing Marblehead, Ma as the chairman of the Marblehead Peace Committee and joining with Clare Richie (chairman of the Salem Peace Committee)helping an 11 yr old Girlscout plant and dedicate four peace poles in four different parks throughout the city from 6pm to 8pm. We are proud to participate in this amazing young girls vision to create out of wood herself, put languages on the peace poles, get the park and rec to help, go through the red tape of a city and actually dedicate four peace poles in one day as well as the one she already dedicated at Winter Island in Salem a month ago. I stand in awe of this 11 year old girl who did all this herself in one year. It does give me hope that this next generation is already preparing warriors for peace and that they are not talking about what they want to do; but actually doing it with grace and purity of heart that cuts through all the crap the adults have devised for themselves. Go Megan . What a day to shine!

Great work on the pole...

We have one at our community garden in the Bay Area, SF...so many see it; people in good states, people on their last dime...people otherwise in (sometimes) anguished states...and the rest of us, too (those "others" being "us", really; just on another tack or different day. A silent sentinal and beaconing promise...who can say what good it sends out? Much, I think...
