The popular media including the various outlets that pretend to be more in touch with the public interest, including PBS, have failed to reach the standard of true progressive action by sponsoring and promoting war related themes that glorify and heroicize war beyond what is morally acceptable. How many documentaries have to be made about World War II, exalting the American and British soldier as he killed "Japs" and "Krauts"? It ia all so unnecessary. If the intelligentsia of media and broadcasting cannot think of a way to make peace related documentaries and the like commercially successful then I guess they are not so competent at what they do for a living, they are not so intelligent after all. Or perhaps they are selling out to other political and financial motives that we are not aware of? There must be some other way to sell memberships to PBS stations, or get good ratings besides showing the same old clips of exploding battleships, dead soldiers on fields, bombs free falling out of airplanes etc..
Let's be good to ourselves, give ourselves more credit, see that maybe after all the greatest heroics, the bravest deeds, the most formidable achievements of the human spirit are not when we are systematically murdering each other.
It ia all a mind perception and it can be changed.
