Prayer for War-Makers

I pray for the peace-makers,
for those who need and lack,
for all who suffer by the actions of others.

But more, I pray for others,
those who make war,
by lack of compassion kill.

I pray for the rapist,
the thief and the soldier
who is simply following orders.

I pray for George W. Bush,
for Richard Cheney, Rove,
Rumsfeldt, and Rice.

I pray for the warmongers
and makers of violence
in every nation of Earth.

I pray for their guidance,
for their redemption,
for their Awakening.

Pro-peace, not anti-war,
I pray (if not always lovingly)
for the love of all.

I pray for the soldier who
knows not what she does,
the one who does as he is told.

I pray for the terrorist
who feels no other recourse
nor understanding of God's Grace.

I pray for the citizen
of any nation at all
who doesn't understand.

I pray for all who
sit and ask "Why?",
who become angry or desparate.

I pray for the prisoner
and for the guards,
the judges, wardens, and executioners.

We are all accountable.
Karma is both individual
and, nightmare!, corporate.

I pray for Us.
I pray for We.
I pray for I.

I am that I am.
I am that I am.
For ever and ever, Amen.
