Flyers

Thirty or so years ago, with a baby in a stroller..I walked through my neighborhood handing out flyers for nuclear disarmament... One particular conversation ensued that was notable to me... my next door neighbor (from Chile, married to an American) had no qualms about war, nuclear or otherwise. When asked, she had no issues about her son going off to war...or her daughter.

Sunday I handed out flyers for Peace with Iran. Much has come to pass that my neighbor *welcomed*... women are serving in the military not only in Israel, but the USA...as *grunts*. Of course we know young men and women, often no more than children have been suicide bombers.

Sunday one woman said *I agree* but what can *I* do...as she took my flyer..

If I remember correctly, Krishna Das, the singer of beautiful Kirtans who often accompanied Ram Dass on his satsangs... Carried a sign in the middle of a triangle intersecting many streets in Los Angeles when nuclear warheads were to be taken cross-country...

The sign read: "what if a nuclear accident happened here?"
