resolution 362 IranIt is wrong to try to stifle Iran. Nuclear Proliferation cannot be stopped. It is a natural process, once a technology is invented it spreads. Nuclear Proliferation is not something to be afraid of. Mutually Assured Destruction kept the peace between the Soviet Union and the United States for decades. In the future, any conflict anywhere in the world will result in a nuclear inferno. War will become unthinkable and peace will prevail. Imagine how much safer and peaceful our world will be when anyone who wants an atomic bomb can have one.

Huh? Like a second amendment for nuclear arms? Will people have to get a permit like for handguns? Will children sneak them into schools to threaten their rivals or "protect" themselves? Will the hapless accidentally annihilate their town while cleaning it because "they didn't realize it was loaded"? Will exploring toddlers happen upon a device, stored by a foolish parent in a non-childproof location, and innocently start a global nuclear misunderstanding?
My view is that our species must become very skilled in identifying and purging errant technologies. We've done it before. For example, we no longer construct buildings with asbestos. We no longer spray our parks and neighborhoods with DDT. We no longer make paint with lead. The difference with nuclear arms is the massive power over others that the technology affords. We have to purge our desire for such power from our collective consciousness before policy makers will be able to recognize the complete insanity of these weapons.
