propeace.net Launch

Thanks to CivicSpace Labs, a fantastic open source project that allows you to create a web site like this with little effort, propeace.net launches today. My hope is to provide a space where people who are organizing and supporting peace and conflict resolution can discuss ideas and share information. This web site will evolve over time. Please make your needs and wishes known to me and I will try to accommodate.

I started this site primarily due to my interest and support of the Department of Peace Campaign in hopes that it could be of some use for organization and discussion. Please visit the forum section to participate in discussions. Visit the events section to view and record upcoming events.

You can create content at this site too! Click on Create Content on the left side of the screen to create blog entries, submit events and stories. This is your site. Make it useful and informative.

Thanks for visiting propeace.net.

re: propeace web

Sandra, I think you are wise to channel your energy to peace. So many "progressives" are focused on dissent and outrage rather than assent and progress. In my view, channeling energy as you have chosen is the more enriching and healthier way to go, both for oneself and for the greater good. Keep up the good work! Keep us informed on what you up to.

I was so happy to see a website dedicated to peace. I have lately decided that all my activist efforts will be directed to this one goal - peace. Rather than dilute my efforts by working against war, I will work for peace. That is a very comforting thought to me and helps organize my energy, it also takes the anger and the us and them out of the equation. Thank you for doing this.
