5th district meetingOn Saturday, I met with the 5th district organizing committee to help organize a gathering of the people who have signed up to help the DoP campaign in the district. The meeting was productive and resulted in a to-do list for each of us. I'm going to be producing DVDs of the 2003 DoP Conference speech given by Dennis Kucinich to pass out at the gathering. Plus, of course I'll handle mailings and announcements through this site. I also want to produce some t-shirts that can be sold at a markup to benefit the DoP campaign. I'm thinking of having the DoP logo with text "The Massachusetts Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace" on top, and "An Idea Whose Time Has Come" below. On the back I'd like to put the propeace.net logo. Turns out Marty Meehan, the 5th district congressman, will be speaking at a memorial service on June 5th. Supposedly he will talk about a resolution he is going to introduce in the House for an Iraq exit strategy. Our organizing meeting will be on that day after Meehan's appearance.

propeace quoteGiven the enormity of the social change that confronts us, the thing that will give us the most hope and strength to make change happen is if we learn how to celebrate. Out of a spirit of celebration will come the energy to do whatever it takes to bring about social change. daily omrecent blog postsactive discussionssimilar postswho's onlineThere are currently 0 users and 8 guests online.
