Contact in DelawareI was fortunate to spend a few days in Rehoboth Beach last week, and made my annual visit to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Southern Delaware in Lewes. I took an extra Department of Peace folder, naturally, spoke with women, one of whom was eager to take a leadership role, locally. She took the information and will initiate a petition campaign in the church and more widely. Her name is Felicity LaVelle at ftlavelle@aol.com , for those who know people in the area who might like to become active. It is heartening to meet people who know little or nothing of the campaign, who agree to contact their District Representative, The Peace Alliance for up-to-date information and coordinators in their state, and who speak immediately of networking! The group, one of whom is President of University Women at the University of Delaware, expressed interest in attending the Conference in D.C. in September! It is actually so easy to bring good news wherever we go by offering these small steps for peace!

propeace quoteEach of the great social achievements of recent decades has come about not because of government proclamations, but because people organized, made demands, and made it good politics for governments to respond. It is the political will of the people that makes and sustains the political will of governments. daily ombeyondanandarecent blog postsactive discussionssimilar posts
