Mourning As Healing: Reclaiming Joy in the Face of Hopelessness and Despair

Do you find yourself overwhelmed by the amount of violence in the world, in your everyday life, in the lives around you? Do you long for ways to feel hopeful and optimistic again? You may be a parent who feels hopelessness in your parenting, or a teacher feeling hopeless in your classroom or school's administrative hierarchy. Or you may be an individual aching for ways to have more meaning in your life. This workshop will teach a process for mourning unmet needs you may have, using NVC consciousness, and will give participants both a structure for and a safe experience of tapping into hopelessness and despair, honoring unmet needs, and experiencing healing by going there.
Prerequisite: Minimum of daylong NVC Introductory Class. Requested Contribution: $200 - $100.
Requested Contribution for both Friday and Saturday: $230 - $120.

The requested tuition supports the sustainability of BayNVC and allow its trainers to continue bringing NVC to individuals and organizations across the country. In order to be as inclusive as possible, and enable people with limited financial resources to have access to NVC, BayNVC keeps its tuition low and uses a sliding scale. Thus, if you have difficulty managing the requested amount, we ask you to contribute whatever amount on the scale that allows you both to support this work and meet your need for self-care. If you are moved to contribute more than the requested scale, the additional financial support for BayNVC would be gratefully accepted.

Location for both Workshops: Friend's Meeting Cambridge, 5 Longfellow Park (off Brattle St.), a 15 minute walk from Harvard Square T stop on Red Line.
Parking at University Place Garage, on University Rd (off Mt. Auburn St, opposite the post office) in Harvard Square. ($10/day)

Miki Kashtan, co-founder of Bay Area Nonviolent Communication (BayNVC) is a certified NVC trainer. She also co-leads the North American Leadership Program, a one year program for people interested in teaching NVC or deepening their NVC practice within a community setting.
