I'M A SOLDIER

Tags:

I gave my life to my country for a certain period of time.
I stand here to serve and protect, but it seems like I'm doing the crime.
I walk around with protection, but God is my only hope.
I'm a Soldier in the Army, can you tell me how to cope?

The Nature of War

The situation you were in, and that your comrades in arms are in now, is as old as recorded history (it happened in the Levant and earlier, it happened in China during the formation of its dynastic kingdoms, it happened in Ancient Greece and Rome, it happened during the Renaissance, its happens wherever human civilization exists). Its outcome(s) on a grand and noble scale is the story of civilization.

It's a process usually set in motion between warring states out to gain needed resources. Its a logic that uses your need to survive against itself by pitting you against another in a deadly "mirror dance" where either you or your enemy is left standing.

I'm sure that once its is experienced, your life is changed forever. You've won the lottery of life and are given another day, another month, a year or the gift of a lifetime to rejoice.

You have given an oath of your life to the state, this oath should not be abused. My fear, is that a time may come when this dance to the death could consume us all. This must be prevented, this why I choose to listen and to write in this place.

If humankind is to evolve, it must learn to leave war behind.

Escape Death ?

yikes----im not too sure about the previous post, but I certainly agree with the comment. The travesty of Iraq accomplishes the only two ultimate remains of human intervention upon the environment: corpses and rubble.

The only way to support our troops is the get them the f**k outta there

Escape*Death

This is hard for many to accept, but the route to one's death, is often chosen before that life begins, although the moment and situation is usually random, each death points as a sign post for others to see, on their path of choice. Just as a long and productive life is a gift to the many it can benefit, so to is every death, for death is a gift which keeps on giving, each carried forth by the many who continue to walk the path of love.

Escape into the knowledge that one can do wonderful things, create wonderful change and give the wonderment of love and the beauty of truth to others, within the context of both one's life and your death.

The choice is your's,

Choose*Well

The War

So many soldiers are dying in this war and I think they all should come home regaurdless of what is needed to be accomplished. It seems the only thing being accomplished is people dying. If the accomplishment is so necessary then all the people in the United States that are on death row should have to go over and fight instead of our young men and women who have joined the military to pursue a career in the new life they're begining. When on death row you're gonna die anyway and if they are sent to fight and survive the war just carry on with the proceedings. The peom I'm a Soldier was written because I feel that this is how many of the soldiers feel and they don't have an escape route.
