YOU KNOW YOU ARE EFFECTIVE WHEN THEY SPY ON YOU

It is good to know that when the government entirely ignores you they don't feel the heat from your fire. The only time you really know you are effective is when they start paying attention to you.
Therefore, pray that they are watching. I recall Allard K. Lowenstein of STOP THE WAR movement in the sixties. He said we have free speech, but we know it is effective when they put you on their enemies list. Richard Nixon had Lowenstein in the top ten on his list.
Be proud of the good work you are doing and you know you are successful when they start paying attention.

Dossiers

United for Peace and Justice also has a large dossier. However, that may be one of the reasons that their rally on September 24, 2005 was so well-attended. There's a certain status to having a dossier. "Don't let it bring you down - it's only castles burning." We have nothing to hide. Yes, it's nasty that they have to spy on peace activists and environmentalists, but at least they're not in our face!
