Terrorism, Cause & Tools

I fully agree with you, I thinks we are reaching an interesting and delicate point of this discussion. I see in the religious fanaticism only the tool but not the cause. The cause is maybe far more reaching that one would imagine.

Re: buffaloing The World
So the war in Iraq is about oil and presence in the Middle East, not about terrorism, human rights and Democracy? In fact that is also the common explanation in the Arabic world and in Europe for this war!
Preventing terrorism is not the primary goal of the war in Iraq. We know that there are any number of people who actively hate the US, and these "terrorists" come from other places besides Iraq. The 9-11 hijackers carried Saudi passports. Many of them had lived right here in the US before 9-11. As did Tim McVeigh.
Many countries were rated worse than Iraq on democracy and human rights prior to 9-11. NOrth Korea is certainly no democracy and has a horrible human rights record. The same can be said of China.
No, terrorism is real. The causes of terrorism are what's not well understood.
Absolutely!

Is Bush and US administration buffaloing the whole world –including Americans- when they talk about international terrorism?
Was September the 11th a welcome pretext to launch the war against Saddam?

Re: Bush & Failure
Bush failed to fight Terrorisum - its worth than it has ever been - he stil did not find Sadam`s WMD and so on.....
Is that what you would call a SUCCESS?
That depends on whose definition of "success" you're using. From Bush's perspective, and the perspective of the neoconservatives, he's a qualified success. But that's because the primary objective of his administration was to establish a permanent US military presence in the oil-rich Middle East as described in the various documents of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC)
Fighting terrorism, finding WMD are secondary or even tertiary goals. The primary goal of the Bush administration is to keep the US corporate engine supplied with oil at a reasonable price.
Labeling Bush a "failure" using Google Bombing is somewhat funny, and it takes a certain amount of internet savvy to game the Google search algorithm, but Bush and the neocons couldn't care less what Google users think of them. I suspect that Bush's biggest failure was Harriet Miers and Social Security.

Artie, thanks for the link. This "fun" seems to be stil popoular! Is it really just a fun or there is a truth behind it?

I found in a German paper a caricature in which the US Army blames Harry Potter for the vanish of the WMD in Iraq!
Google & Failure
It's called "Google Bombing." Read all about it at:
