To be culture bias,
Not even of dark complexion
So tension rises,
Gaining high
But shot down
By redneck views,
I’m a white man

An apology,

to say
to see
to listen to.

Don’t try.

We have scars on our eyelids
bodies falling
dust clouds
screams.

There are children for whom
it is already history
vague events
that littered the world
before they were born
Moses and Mother Theresa
as contemporaries
in shadow stories.

There is nothing to say
yet we can’t stop talking.

there are three major types of laws that people will follow,

the laws of the land,
the laws of the church,
and the laws of the soul

if there should come a time when they are not equal, and I must choose one over the other

as i sit in silent meditation
swirls of incense burn beside me

over and over the mantra repeats itself
until my cluttered mind is clear of all thought
