peace & nonviolence

I just left this on the Wall of Beliefs at http://www.peacescooter.com

I invite you to leave your beliefs there as well. And share them here. Peace!

It is easier to wage war against nameless, faceless strangers than it is to raise weapons against friends.
Make as many friends in as many corners of the world as possible.
Make communities across oceans. read more »

Hello there everyone,

I just got back from a trip cross country and have added several new photos of peace signs to my site: www.signsofpeace.net

Please take a look and if so inspired, please send me your own photos to add to mine. That's really the reason I made the site - to have everyone looking around for signs of peace.

Thanks so much!

in salt or oil, read more »

You see, I know I will never be the orator that he was, but I can be a similar active, participating force, an agent for change, a contributor to peace and nonviolence. read more »

CLOSING Apr. 4: Every day, I join others in this prayer for World Peace.

With each kind thought,
each choice for nonviolence,
we plant a seed that shall bloom
to bring forth rich fruit in its Season.
Together, friend, we till the soil and
plant the seeds that all creation may
sing for joy and dance in the
Garden of Peace.
May our prayers and practices read more »

There is a Red Book

There is a red book lying on my floor
rows of crimson-robed monks
sitting in meditation
on its cover...
there are rows of soldiers
marching to a different drum,

the monks are falling in Tibet and Myanmar,
the soldiers in Israel and Iraq,

there are voices of despair, hope and
innocence in rows of graves where all colours read more »
